die letzten beiden tage waren fuer mich wohl von den schoensten, seitdem wir die schweiz verlassen haben...vorgestern haben wir mit jamie und manu fahrraeder gemietet und sind in der ganzen stad rumgeradelt...quer durch hutongs, dem kanal entlang, doch auch auf hauptschlagadern des pekinger verkehrs...eine ganz andere art, diese stadt kennenzulernen...und ein angenehmer wind, der um die ohren und ins gesicht blaest...am abend mussten wir leider von miriam, koen und jamie abschied nehmen...es war schoen sie hier noch einmal zu treffen...bis um 2 uhr morgens tranken wir tsingtaos im innenhof eines cafes und sprachen ueber gott und die welt...solche leute zu treffen, mit denen es nicht immer um smalltalk geht, tut gut...und deshalb machte es mir auch nichts, dass ich am naechsten tag um 7 todmuede aufstehen musste, um zu einem ziemlich entfernten stueck mauer zu fahren, in einem minibus...mongoleirevival, sozusagen. wir marschierten 10 km auf dieser immensen mauer...beeindruckend...schweisstreibend...aber eben fantastisch, denn es waren nur ganz wenige leute dort und meistens waren wir mit manu alleine unterwegs...bei der rueckfahrt verfuhr sich der chauffeur in peking, doch nach einem koestlichen chineseischen mahl schliefen wir seelig ein...heute abend velassen wir die hauptstadt, es geht auf billigen holzsitzen (4. klasse) 10 h richtung pingyao...fortsetzung folgt

dear english speaking readers...i apologize for not writing much in your tongue...but proportional to the amount of readers it is OK, so there you go. after 2 amazing weeks in mongolia we left these barely inhabited fields and mountains to ariive in china...man, amazing how many people are arround here. well, it is beijing, so very different than the rest of the huge country, i guess. cycling our bikes arround the city with jamie and manu was one of my happiest moments since i left...we also went swimming with some old people in one of the lakes arround the summer palace, fought our way through the chinese chinese tourists in the forbidden city and we hiked the great wall yesterday, in a not very touristic area...7 miles on this amazing world wonder...up and down and up and down and so on. but we get used to the weather...42 degrees celsius and about 90% humidity (brentton knows what i'm talking about)...a climate i dont really enjoy, but the surroundings are so beautiful that it is worth is...and at night you can always cool down arround a few beers, talking to koen and miriam...we have 4 weeks to get to hong-kong, allready over half of our trip is over...we have seen so much, we have met so many people, it is great...saying goodbye is never easy, but soon other people and other places will come...not to replace the ones before, but to be added to the ones before...
